I woke up to snow today. My first real snow in Pittsburgh since I’ve been here, although really it wasn’t much. But it was pretty.
Today in Design for AI Products and Services we talked about how AI learns aka Machine Learning: Supervised and Unsupervised Learning and Reinforcement Learning. Again, it’s funny because I’ve worked with all these learning types before, I just never had a name for them. It’s like when you’re a child playing in the bathtub and you learn the thing you’re splashing around in is called water. (Which is a label, so it’s Supervised Learning.)
Sidenote: This is Water.
“Narrow AI” is another term I’d never heard before today, but I get it. It means AI can perform a limited, specific set of competencies (sometimes better than humans), but can’t match the broad suite of skills that people have.
Speaking of how smart humans are, I also locked myself out of my office today.
